Position Overview:
The Corporate Counsel will be the legal expert within Neolytix, responsible for managing all legal affairs of the company. This role involves ensuring compliance with Indian laws, managing contracts, and supporting our operations in the US and the Philippines through coordination with outside counsels. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of business law, employee law, contract management, and international taxation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Management:
- Ensure compliance with Indian laws and regulations, including business, employment, and corporate laws.
- Oversee compliance with international regulations in collaboration with outside counsels in the US and the Philippines.
- Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, vendor agreements, and employment contracts.
- Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Legal Support:
- Provide legal advice and support to various departments within Neolytix.
- Address legal queries related to business operations, employee matters, and other corporate issues.
- International Taxation:
- Advise on international taxation matters and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.
- Coordinate with tax advisors to manage cross-border tax issues.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Handle legal disputes and liaise with external counsels as necessary.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain and update legal documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and present legal reports to the management team.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in corporate law, with a focus on compliance, contract management, and international taxation.
- Strong knowledge of Indian business and employment laws.
- Experience with international legal matters, particularly in the US and the Philippines, is preferred.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
