Job Description 

Position: House Manager / Elder Care Coordinator 

Location: Ghaziabad, UP India 

Type: Full-time, Live-in preferred (or flexible live-out with on-call availability) 
Reports to: Family members (remotely based) 

Background 

We are seeking a trustworthy, experienced House Manager to oversee the household and coordinate care for our elderly father who is recovering from a hemorrhagic stroke and is currently bedridden. All immediate family members reside abroad, making this role critical as the on-ground representative of the family. 

Primary Responsibilities 

Care Coordination & Oversight 

  • Supervise and coordinate all caregiving staff including GDAs (General Duty Assistants), physiotherapist, speech therapist, and any visiting medical professionals 

  • Ensure therapy schedules are adhered to and document progress 

  • Maintain a daily health diary including vitals, food intake, medication administered, bowel movements, skin condition, and therapy notes 

  • Ensure Caretakers use Remote patient monitoring devices. Can check records upload in Cloud apps like EKA care. 

  • Accompany patient for hospital visits and doctor appointments; coordinate ambulance services when needed 

  • Manage medication inventory—track supplies, ensure timely refills, and verify correct administration 

  • Serve as first point of escalation for any health concerns; make judgment calls on when to alert family vs. handle independently 

Household Management 

  • Oversee cook and housekeeping staff; ensure nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions (stroke/diabetic diet if applicable) 

  • Maintain household inventory—groceries, medical supplies, cleaning supplies 

  • Manage household maintenance and repairs; coordinate with vendors and service providers 

  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards appropriate for a patient recovering at home 

Financial Management 

  • Maintain detailed expense records with receipts; submit weekly expense reports 

  • Pay staff salaries and manage vendor payments 

  • Flag any unusual expenses or cost-saving opportunities 

Communication & Reporting 

  • Provide daily updates to family via WhatsApp (brief text + photos/videos as appropriate) 

  • Participate in weekly video calls to discuss status, concerns, and upcoming needs 

  • Serve as liaison with extended family, neighbors, and visitors 

  • Document and communicate any incidents or concerns promptly 

Emergency Preparedness 

  • Maintain updated list of emergency contacts (doctors, ambulance, hospital, family) 

  • Know protocols for common emergencies (fall, breathing difficulty, fever, seizure) 

  • Ensure emergency supplies and equipment are always ready 

  • Have working knowledge of nearest hospitals and their stroke/neuro capabilities 

Required Qualifications 

Experience 

  • 3-5+ years of experience in household management, elder care coordination, or healthcare administration 

  • Prior experience managing staff (minimum 3-4 people) 

  • Experience with post-stroke or bedridden patient care strongly preferred 

Skills 

  • Fluent in Hindi; conversational English required for family communication 

  • Comfortable with technology: WhatsApp, video calls, basic spreadsheets or expense apps 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Calm under pressure with good judgment in emergencies 

  • Ability to be firm but respectful with staff and vendors 

Personal Qualities 

  • Integrity and trustworthiness (will handle finances and have access to home) 

  • Patience and empathy in dealing with elderly and unwell individuals 

  • Self-directed and proactive—able to work independently with remote supervision 

  • Respectful of patient's dignity and privacy 

Practical Requirements 

  • Willing to live-in or be available on-call for emergencies 

  • Flexible on timing given patient care needs 

  • Valid ID proof; willing to undergo background verification
